I. Introduction into Interdependent
Economy
the book
In Interdependent Economy - from Political Economy to Spiritual Economy the author describes
her vision and practical strategies for an economy that suit the needs of this 21st Century.
economy for the 21st
Century
In this time of age the concerns of a growing number of people are with economic justice for all, with respect
for people's own local cultures and economies, with careful use of nature's resources and with an economy that leaves space
for individual growth besides working for the material necessities of life.
economic policy of today
Our politicians
of today practice an economic policy that has now become obsolete. Their policies are based on an environment * where
nation-building was a new and forceful concept * where industrial technology was still in its budding stage * where
sufficient production - in particular of food - was still a challenge * and where societal values accepted that masses
of working people could be exploited to secure the comforts of some few.
In such an environment a policy mainly concerned
with growth of production and increase of national wealth seems most efficient. And struggle between the classes is an unavoidable
aspect of political life.
Today, such policies only aggravate the economic imbalances between countries, the urgency
of environmental issues and the clash between cultures. Continuation of these policies for too long have already resulted
in a growing gap between poor and rich and a growing number of socially and mentally deprived persons even in affluent countries.
Interdependent
Economy
Interdependent Economy proposes a vision that declares people and their empowerment as the heart of the matter.
It enables an economic policy that unleashes the rich potential of our present reality: advanced industrial and information
technology ánd wide-spread democratic awareness.
Understanding Interdependent Economy means an end
to doom scenarios a binding of all positive energy that exists in so many of us the proper
channeling of this positive energy – locally and globally
